Beware when in Montreal! Our debit card numbers were stolen by a '' phony '' ATM. Back home: yes - our banker confirms to us: Montreal has become a leading international area - for identity theft of all kinds. Tourists beware! - use only ATMs in the lobbies of well-known Canadian banks! We lost $600 in 2-days - before we noticed the illegal withdrawals.

In the winter it is the worlds largest skating rink. Round trip from Dows lake to NAC and back is approx 16K. There are many huts along the way to stop at and get a drink, or a famous Bever Tail (pastry). In February during winterlude you can see the Snow Sculptures at Dows lake or the Ice Sculpture at the NAC end of the canal.
