Location: Nice 50km drive over the Crown Range.

Wanaka is a beautiful town located on the Shores of lake Wanaka in the heart of the Southern lakes. In winter it offers some of the best skiing in the Southern Hemisphere and is one of the largest ski resorts in New Zealand with loads on offer apart from skiing. In Summer there is a wide variety of adventure sports, walking, cycling, swimming, and sightseeing. If that's not enough Stuart Landsborough's Puzzling World offers a huge 3D maze to get lost in. I managed to complete it in a little over an hour.
The Warbird's Museum offers a large collection of WWII fighter planes and the Transport Museum must have well over a thousand vehicles of every description. One of the highlights for me was a Toyota Landcruser that was ordered in the 1970's. Instead of the farmer getting "fire-engine red" that was ordered he got a red fire-engine.

I love just about everything about NZ and Wanaka is a real highlight, but as far as skiing goes I wouldent touch the country with a long stick, Eurpoe/N America it isent.

Who needs 97 ski lifts... You can have an amazing day with just two. When Treble Cone has good snow it's as good anything I have skied in Europe. And if you can't ski.. The view is well worth a look.

It was really nice to come to N.Z. with my new boyfriend. everything was so beautiful. The skiing was amazing, even though i dont know how, he helped me. very romantic. It was a shame my friend didn\'t have a nice time like me, her and her new fiancee did not have a very good time. But thank you sooo much for making wanaka otago such a nice place. For sure i will be returning. (maybe for my hunneymoon ;)... )

I just got back from my awesome trip in New Zealand,and I loved it.My tan is beautiful and my partner also loves it;)We had fun,went swimming in the cool ocean and we also went to the moutains and did some hiking:).Anyhow I\'m going out for the night,so I must be on my way.Hope you all love it if you visit as well...Love Mike Hunt
