Location: Buses from Hull (10kms) or York (50Kms). Train from Hull (15 mins). Hull is 2.5 hours from London Kings Cross.

Small, unspoilt market town. Main attractions are Beverley Minster, widely acclaimed as the most attractive non-cathedral church in Europe, and pretty St. Mary's Church, which features a carving that inspired Lewis Carroll. Good nightlife with lots of traditional pubs serving local brews at good prices. Sports venues include a racecourse and a golf course. Handily placed between Hull and York and the Yorkshire coast-only 60kms from Scarborough. Visit Beverley and see something of the real England!
