Matai Bay is a lovely spot way off the beaten track with two beautiful side by side bays. Careful of tires in wet weather, as we saw a couple in a campervan, deeply rutted into the mud in the campground. Help is miles away!

Matai Bay Is one of my regular Getaways, i first went to Matai Bay on a geography trip with Auckland University. i had to come back again and again just to take it all in. clear waters, great sandy beaches and the most hospitible people. very little facilities are available in the area but the locals make sure your most comfertable and are happy to show you around. a great place to relax and collect your thoughts in peace. a place only discribed as god's own! go see it

Heaven on earth; go see it and breath it. An early morning dip in the sun, is a must.
