Maitai Bay
Location: Karikari Peninsula - Maitai Bay Rd, 25km NE of Kaitaia There are many campgrounds owned by the Department of Conservation (DOC) throughout New Zealand that offer a 'back to nature' style of camping. Careful of tires in wet weather, as we saw a couple in a campervan, deeply rutted into the mud in the campground. Help is miles away!
