Ephesus is the most intact/restored archealogy city in the world. You can see ancient marble columns, arches, houses, temples, streets, bath houses, theatres, the brothel and the infamous 2 story all marble library. The beauty and size of these structures are sure to take your breath away. Also within 10km of Ephesus is the House of the Virgin Mary, the temple of Artemis, (one of the 7 wonders of the ancient world), and the Church of St. John.

Brugge is a gorgeous medieval town and a UNESCO heritage site. This is the place to take someone special for a romantic weekend. With horse-drawn carriages, cobbled streets, cozy cafes and walks along the canals, you can't lose.

We recently visited South Moravia in the Czech Republic for the first time - we rented a chalet from a private owner. The chalet was affordable (300 pounds for a week between 4) and the cost of food and drink in local area was unbelievably cheap. It really is a very special area to spend a week - lots of forest, seemingly thousands of castles, walking and cycling tracks, vinyards in the area south of Brno, lakes and generally the most lovely countryside. Backpackers Paradise is just fantastic. Its an old house converted. They offer fantastic braai's with wonderful pub out the back for those fantastic hot days they have. Even had an ostrich egg for brekkie. Its within walking distance to the town as well.

Fantastic place to stay is the Mkomazana Lodge/Backpackers. It has everything - great bar & facilities. The salt and peper walk is right behind the lodge, the waterfall track is also walking distance. Perfect location if you are planning on walking the Lestho/SA border to the highest pub in Africa!

Knysna is a very chilled place to visit. Its on the coast, but know cut off by a lagoon. Sea horses live in this lagoon and can be spotted from time to time. It is also well known for its oysters, which are very cheap and delicious. Its a must if you are doing the garden route, just go and chill!

When in Berlin make sure you go on the amazing Brewers Walking Tours, particularly with a guide called Preston. They are amazing, you learn so much about the city and find out things that you would never find out otherwise.

We went through the south of france and our favourites places were Nimes and Avignon. Nimes is definitely worth a visit with its beautiful statued garden (complete with roman ruins) leading up through winding paths to a tower where the whole area can be viewed for next to nothing as well as a lovely old arena similar to the one in verona. Beautiful place to even just get off train and check out for hour or two. Avignon is also lovely and the Palace of the Popes is spectacular (tour is ok b....

Beautiful small medieval town surrounded by the tuscanny landscape. All the streets are pebbled and many become little alley ways leading all over the place. Worth the money to go to the top of one of the towers to get a complete 360 view of the landscape.

when traveling by train in the ukraine is is well worth it to take the faster trains in the routes as they are not only faster but nicer as some of the slow trains are very old and bathrooms can be closed on some(due to no holding tanks) runs when stoping at small towns and the slow trains stop at a lot of small towns one thing is very cool way to travel as it easy to make a lot of new friends but some russan lang skills does help here but with out any i was befriended on all of my train tr....
