Here she stands in all her glory. You must walk to the top, and just walk around the nice park and take in the views from the island. Remember in winter to have a hat and gloves as its freezing out there. There is a small tourist shop and a small place to get hot food (Not that its good food). Its is a must if you are in NY.

This bay was declared a protected marine life conservation area and underwater park in 1967. This is a fantastic beach area if you are new to Scuba diving or snorkeling with a diversified population of fish and a rich coral reef. The bay floor is the crater of a volcano that opened up to the ocean when the exterior wall collapsed.

There is an easy walking track between Marahau and Totaranui that can be done in four or five days. You can stay in huts provided for $12-15 a night but they can be booked up over summer. The other option is to camp which is done on a first in bases and costs $3-4 a night. You must carry in all your own food but there is one Resturant in Awaroa that offers a welcome beer! Other options are to hire a Sea Kayak or you can catch the watertaxi if you are feeling tired or lazy.

Fraser Island is a sand island that is mostly covered in tropical forest and has a number of fresh water lakes and streams that make great swimming. It's unfortantly dangerous to swim in the sea. The bus tours are very well run and include everything you could need.

Wanaka is a beautiful town located on the Shores of lake Wanaka in the heart of the Southern lakes. If you ever happen to be there -which is very unlikely : who goes there these days- put half day aside for a visit to fabulous Sa'dAbaad Palace complex, which was the official residence of the royal family in the north of Tehran. The Green Palace is a magnificient building, with beautiful mirror-works, persian rugs and all sorts of oriental stuff. It's located in a very nice old house and is clean and comfortable. The staff are very helpful and friendly. Streatley is a pretty little town with loads of walking tracks including the ridgeway path that dates back thousands of years.

Wharariki Beach boast one of the most superlative coastal landscapes found anywhere, where the actions of wind & wave have resulted in massive rock and sand dune formations.

A wonderful drive, you can take the many roads or walks. There is a large beautiful waterfall that you can walk down and under and then back up the valley. There is some nice cafes along the various roads. If you are lucky enough you can even see the odd Wallaby jumping by, also many tropical birds to feed along the way.
