Yehliu has beautiful sandstone rock formations, clear sea and lots of seafood restaurants. It is a fishing port and the restaurants have tanks of live fish in many varieties and colours. The rock formations are interesting and beautiful. Catch a bus from Taipei for about each way.

Get yourself a boat and just hang out on the Pokara Lake. With breathtaking mountains of 20.000 feet in view this is one of the best places I've been to in Nepal. Just take a book, some water and youl'll be fine!!

The best baked potato shop in the world - affordable, huge baked potatoes, whole menu is vegetarian and much of it also vegan. Mostly takeaway but has a small table, gets packed out in summer. Close enough to Princes St gardens that you can buy your spud and go to the gardens to eat it (Scottish weather allowing). Open lunch - early evening.

Small villiage with a very small harbour full of sailing boats, surrounded by cliff faced ocean. The village is about 3 kms from the train station. There is one youth hostel (that I know of) up on the cliffs overlooking the sea, about 3 km out of the villiage. As far as I know there is no transport to the hostel, I and others walked the 3km, (uphill all the way!!)So take groceries with you!! (Not too much, you;l hate the walk, but appriciate it afterwards!!) Of course it is also possible to....

This is a fanastic family park with all sorts of Aussie wildlife. There is plenty of Koala to look at and you can even hold on if you want, there is also a large area with Kangaroo's. When I was there there was plenty of Joeys in their pouches and you could even touch mum and baby. You need at least half a day here and there is even picnic spots provided. EVen got to see a Tasmanian Devil, Wombat and also dingoes.

Cinque Terre means 5 lands. Five ancient and isolated villages cling to a steep hillside and are linked by a walking track. While CT has recently been discovered by mass tourism and is soon to achieve World Heritage status, it is still a wonderful place to visit. Tourism is fast becoming the main industry but the hillsides are still covered in vineyards and olive groves. Take the train from La Spezia to Riomaggiore and walk along the coast to Monterosso Al Mare. Allow a full day or be....

Kapiti Island is a sanctuary for native birds. Birds like Kaka, Tui and Bellbird are numerous but rare birds like the Whitehead, Saddleback or flightless Takahe can be seen too.
